Pampering and Diwali

This Saturday was a blast! Megan's birthday was on October 12th and for her birthday Jr and I decided to get her a pedicure and manicure! So she and I went yesterday afternoon for a day of pampering. Mom came with us in the beginning but then she had to go to a party.

This was my first time, and it was super exciting to do it with Megan! We had an interesting group of people doing our nails. The gentleman that was doing Megan's fingernails tried convincing us that he had 10 kids (and then later said he had 12... Lol)

We had to laugh because we realized of all times to do this, we did it in the fall when we don't wear flip flops as much!

Later that night we went Indian celebration Diwali that one of my parents from my preschool told me about. We ended up getting there a little late, but it was still fun! Megan and I found a Henna Tattoo booth so the two of us decided to get one done. They turned out beautiful! It's prettiest our hands have ever been!

Then we got a little bit of Indian food, and then everyone got together and did fireworks! It was so fun!!!

Hopefully we'll get to go again next year!

Updates on life!

I haven't really posted anything since the first time I posted, so I'm going to do some backtracking and do a couple of blogs of what's been going on! First off, Jr and I relocated to Dustin and Megan's apartment. Grandma Staves was amazing and let us use her storage for most of our stuff, and then the stuff the we need we took with us. My whole family helped move, and it was pretty fun, minus my dads finger getting smashed by my piano!

Moving day!
So far, I don't think we could've found better room mates!

Wedding Album

Photobucket Album

The Beginning

So, I've been noticing blogs popping up all over the place and have been really enjoying reading some of them. I realized what a great way this is to stay in contact with people, and decided to start one for my new family! :)
Jr and I are finally married! It took us a while, but I've gotta say, in some ways I'm really glad it did. The wedding was everything I could have asked for. My mom set up the whole reception and it turned out better than I could have ever wanted. I've been going through the wedding pictures recently because my uncle (also my photographer) wanted me to pick my top favorites. As I was going through them I realized how many goofy ones there were and started to wish we had some more romantic ones. Later though, I saw the slideshow my uncle put together and realized how much fun we had all day and was happy that we caught so many pictures of that fun.

Ever since then, we've been doing the newlywed thing: you know, being poor, trying to figure out where the heck to put everything, arguing over stupid little differences in living, and basically just enjoying the heck out of each other! :) We're living in Rescue in a little (no seriously, I mean little!) apartment that used to be a garage. We're both going to school right now at Folsom Lake College. He's taking Chemistry and Calculus (I know! I married a geek!) and I'm taking two Early Childhood Education classes. He just applied to UC Davis. We'll hear if he's been accepted in March I believe. He's working on his medical degree. At the moment he's thinking about becoming a surgeon, but he's been toying with different ideas. I plan to eventually transfer to Sac State to get a degree in Child Education. I want to open my own preschool. As far as work goes, I just got let go from working as a preschool teacher. It's a long stupid complicated story, but now I am working as a nanny for an adorable three year old. I hope to get back into preschool soon, but for now I'm using my extra time planning out things for my future preschool. Jr is still working at Ms. BJ's vineyard mananging it and helping plan future things there. We're learning, slowly but surely, how to work together as a couple now. Who ever knew how complicating that oculd be!
A lot of people might not know this considering Jr's relative quietness, but he's a big goofball. He's been amusing me with his monthly new words. Every month he randomly comes up with these words that he likes to through into the things that he says. Frequently it might be nicknames for myself. One month it was Jeffrey Louis (which is consequently the reason that our cats name is Jeffrey Louis!), another month it was bacon, etc. This months nickname is Ray Ray (I haven't had the heart to tell him that that one isn't original, it in fact has been used for me since I was born!) Life has been good. :)
